Refurbishment of a single-storey house. The existing volume and interior distribution is maintained. Only the use of some of the rooms has been changed by means of the renovation. therefore, the ground-floor annexe volumes overlooking the courtyard have not been altered. It is interpreted that these volumes, which previously housed all the humid areas, have been refurbished and can make sense in the new configuration of the house. This respectful attitude is also found in the interior rooms which, by changing the arrangement of the doors, are now linked linearly, generating a new mobility within the house parallel to that of the past. The central room, the most disadvantaged in terms of light, has a central interior courtyard, which is also a distributor between the bathroom, the bedrooms and the staircase that leads to a covered ceiling. This central interior courtyard floods the hallway with colourful light thanks to the displacement of an old window frame located before the courtyard. The refurbishment has maintained the paving and the use of polymers has been avoided for the cladding, prioritising quality.
